About the Center

prayHope Child Development Center was founded to provide parents with a center where their child will hear and learn the holy word of God as they grow. Designed as a community resource for all children, the center provides an educationally sound program in a safe and healthy Christian environment, where bible teaching forms the foundation for all learning. Hope is licensed by the State of Connecticut to provide a full-day program with has the capacity to serve 83 infant, toddlers, preschool and school-aged children. Formerly, Hope Childcare Center, we began operations in the fall of 2002, conducting programming from Christ Presbyterian Church, located at 135 Whitney Avenue in New Haven, CT. The center relocated to 1 Long Wharf in June 2006.

Hope operates year-round, five days per week, opening at 7:30am and closing at 5:30pm. The center’s operation is principally funded through parent fees and by generous contributions made by members of our partnering churches – Christ Presbyterian & Trinity Baptist Churches. Parents’ fees are billed on a monthly, bi-weekly or weekly basis, payable in advance. A child may be en-rolled in any of a variety of program schedules, from a full-time, five-day-per-weekplan to as little as one or two half-days per week.

Languages spoken at Hope: English, Spanish, Jamaican Patois, Pilipino.

A Message from the Director

Hello. My name is Georgia Goldburn and on behalf of the board and the staff of Hope Child Development Center … Welcome to our website! Leaving your child in the care of others is often a very difficult decision. For over 10 years more than 100 families have chosen our Center and entrusted our staff with this most important responsibility each year. If you choose our Center, the road will be filled with so many joys for you and your child as they journey towards new developmental milestones. As partners in raising your child, we will love and encourage them, and keep them safe while they make their journey.

We are thankful the Lord has placed us in this role. Working with children is a special blessing. Sharing the message of God’s love with them makes our job even more rewarding. We will be committed, as a team with you, to provide a warm and nurturing environment where God’s love is always evident to your children. Furthermore, our doors are always open to answer questions from families as they make this most important decision. We look forward to hearing from you and encourage you to come visit our Center today.
